Welcome
What this is about.
For the last several years I have switched from shared hosting to VPS servers as I decided to branch out into a new vista for myself. Shared hosting is good for one website, maybe two, but the restrictions imposed by the companies who sell shared hosting is more than a little restrictive as to what you are able to get done. Having to email support to have an increase in Gigs to make a website work should be within the purview of the user. The delays between a websites presence being known and being upgraded becomes expensive the deeper one gets into being a webmaster.
On the other hand, however, when one reaches the limit of tolerance and wants to learn much more about web-mastering it becomes a necessity to hit the books, in this case the internet, and learn all one can as to the coding of servers and websites so as to move out from the tethers imposed by shared hosting.
As you see here, this is a website on my own server which costs far less than any shared hosting and I have the freedom to do exactly what I want to do with the server. There's no “middle man.” Of course, this puts the onus on me and I didn't do this on a whim. I spent a lot of time learning both servers and website codes to even throw myself into this venture. Hours upon hours of learning all I could so that I can do this with more hours each day solving problems and all the hassle of not knowing all the answers.
It is well worth the time spent for the freedom that it gives a person. On this website, I have placed part of my experience in the form of tutorials that I learned to put together so that others can do the same as I have done. I cannot tell you how to operate your server but I can tell you which hosting companies I use that has made my experience worth the time it takes to be able to do this. It is worth every second!
